Congratulations ABSW DC Metro Chapter
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go farther, go together”— African proverb
In the spirit of Harambee we want to take the time to congratulate the Association of Black Social Workers DC Metro Chapter for doing an outstanding job hosting the 49TH Annual NABSW Conference “Unmasking Politics & Policies Strengthening the Black Family.” We are honored to have been this year’s host chapter. One of our goals was to leave the conferees breathless and I believe we did just that. I’ve heard nothing but praise and excellent words of how well we treated our guest. Great job Chapter.
A special thank you to our Local Conference Co-Chairs Mrs. Barbara Akins and Ange Anglade. They made a perfect team which made it so easy for our chapter to come together and ROCK. A big thank you to our hard working Local Conference Committee Co-Chairs, your dedication and commitment has not gone unnoticed. Thank you to our members who showed up and showed out. We definitely showed them how we do it in the DMV. We are super proud.
Lastly, we want to thank our volunteers, we are grateful and appreciate you dearly.
In the Spirit of Umoja, Unity which stresses the importance of togetherness for the family and the community, let’s continue to connect. pull together and strengthen our chapter. We will resume our meeting next month. But in the meantime remember this African saying, “I am We,” or “I am because We are.”
